We collect as little as we can: what you choose to send us, and visit counts only if you say yes. We don't sell anything about you, and we don't run ads or tracking pixels.
Who is responsible
Manndev is a web design and development studio in Montréal, Québec. Julien Mann is the person responsible for protecting personal information at Manndev. For any question or request about your information, write to [email protected].
What we collect, and why
- Contact form
- Your first and last name, email address, the service you're interested in, your message and the language of the page. We use it to answer you and, if we work together, to plan the project.
- Project questionnaire
- If we send you our onboarding questionnaire: your name, email, phone number if you give it, your business, current website and the details of the project (goals, pages, features, timeline, budget range and similar). We use it to prepare a proposal and build the project.
- Client portal
- For clients only: a username and access key, and the project files we exchange. We use them to share your site's files and updates with you.
- Visit counts, only with your consent
- If you click Allow on the analytics notice, Google Analytics records how the site is used: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and how you arrived. It sets cookies to tell visits apart. If you don't allow it, Google Analytics is never loaded.
- Server logs
- Like any website, the servers that deliver our pages record technical details of each request (IP address, browser, page requested, time) to keep the site running and secure.
What stays in your browser
A few small preferences are saved in your own browser and are never sent to us: your language choice, your analytics answer, and drafts of the contact form and questionnaire so you don't lose what you typed. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.
Services that handle information with us
We rely on a few outside services. Some of them process information outside Québec, including in the United States, where privacy laws differ.
- Web3Forms receives what you submit in our forms and forwards it to our email inbox.
- Google Analytics measures visits, only once you've allowed it.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces, so your browser connects to Google, which sees your IP address.
- Website Carbon shows the carbon badge at the bottom of our home page; your browser asks it about the page's address.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We only share what the service needs to do its job.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and questionnaire answers as long as we need them to answer you and follow up, and project information for as long as we work together, plus whatever period tax and accounting rules require. After that we delete it. Analytics data is kept for Google Analytics' standard retention period.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- see the personal information we hold about you;
- correct it if it's wrong or incomplete;
- delete it, or stop using it;
- withdraw a consent you gave, such as for analytics.
Write to [email protected] and we'll reply within 30 days. If you aren't satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Your analytics choice
You can change your answer whenever you like.
Keeping it safe
Only the people working on your project can see your information. Our site and portal are served over encrypted connections. If a privacy incident ever put your information at risk, we would tell you and the Commission d'accès à l'information, as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
